Leigh Botwinik, Director of Full Time Students at the Fels Institute of Government

Leigh was previously the School Stat Project Manager for Fels and helped to develop this nationally recognized performance measurement effort conducted in the Philadelphia School District. Leigh was a co-developer of University of Pennsylvania Symposium for School Leaders in 2007 entitled Building and Leading a Data-Driven School Improvement Process Institute.

Prior to coming to Fels, Leigh worked as a research assistant studying the effect of gender on college student evaluations of teaching while at the University of Michigan. After graduating with High Honors in Women's Studies, she taught first and second grade in Washington, D.C. through Teach for America.

Leigh is interested in the research and implementation of urban education policy, teacher mentoring programs, charter schools, and literacy instruction.
