Case Study 6: Northside Independent School District, Texas: From SchoolNet Implementation to Systemic Data Driven Improvement

Topic Description: Serving over 81,000 students, Northside ISD has been a SchoolNet client leveraging the Account, Align, Assess and Outreach modules since the fall of 2005, with initial implementation beginning in April of 2004. Northside's teachers and administrators have been trained to use SchoolNet to disaggregate test scores, focus on the specific areas where students are struggling, and generate individualized action plans. Implementation and rollout of the Curriculum Management System was an evolutionary process from an initial training structure by module to a current state where end-users access all data, course sections, and published reports in one convenient location. During this presentation, Bobby Flores, Curriculum Management System Coordinator for NISD will discuss this evolution and address the importance of organizing data in an easy to use dashboard. Topics discussed will include a focus on:
1. Determining the reports that should be a click away based on district goals, and programs and student groups that are a district focus
2. Value of providing all teachers with the same reports and how these reports are determined - rationale and report identification
