Amy Cook
As an Instructional Designer in Schoolnet's New York office, Amy Cook is able to share best practices to increase product adoption. Based on her work with more than 30 Schoolnet clients (including Chicago Public Schools and the School District of Philadelphia), Amy spearheaded the development of the instructor certification program and leads the creation of workshop materials. With 15 years of experience in software development, her background includes training, information architecture, instructional design, documentation, quality assurance, and collaborative decision making.
Prior to Schoolnet, Amy served as Information Architect for Iguana Studios, focusing on analyzing business requirements and audience needs to produce rapid prototypes of site structure for a wide range of clients. At Donovan Data Systems, an advertising financial software company, she served as Managing Editor and later Senior Product Developer. At a public service unit of the University of Georgia, Amy developed curriculum for an electronic atlas and taught it to teachers across the state. In Georgia, she also served as a substitute teacher and scored state standardized test essays.
Amy joined Schoolnet in November, 2001. She holds a B.A from the University of Virginia, majoring in History with a minor in Urban Planning. In addition, Amy earned a teaching certification and M.Ed. in instructional design from the University of Georgia.
