Anna Surratt
Anna Surratt began her career in education in Durham, North Carolina, as a sixth-grade earth science teacher at Lowe's Gove Middle School. She held this position for two years before transferring to a seventh-grade pre-algebra position for a year at KIPP: Adelante Preparatory Academy in San Diego. This was followed by a year teaching seventh-grade math and science at the Seventy-First Classical Middle School in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In 2009, Surratt joined VBCPS serving in the position she currently holds. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Math and Science Education. She also holds an eTeaching Certificate from the University of Virginia. Surratt serves as a Virginia Middle School Teacher Corps teacher, member of the Model Lesson Writing Committee, and eTeacher.
