Dr. Michaelene Meyer is the Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction at Manassas City Public Schools. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a Bachelors of Science in Education, a Masters of Education in Administration, and a Ph.D. in Educational Studies (Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Leadership).

She has been a general education teacher at the elementary level, a special education teacher pre-K-12, a supervisor of special education programs, an elementary school principal, and a school improvement specialist and staff developer prior to accepting her current position at Manassas City in 2006. She began her career as a special education teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; then returned to Nebraska where she continued to teach both general and special education students, moving into supervision and then administration. In 1998 she moved to Ohio where she "feel into" school improvement work and for eight years traveled around the state working with schools that were identified as being in "academic failure" or "academic warning" as an improvement coach and staff developer. Many of those schools made substantial gains during her time with them and continue to be rated in the higher rankings within their state due to the improvement efforts she assisted/guided school leaders/teams to implement. She is currently focusing on moving Manassas City Public Schools in the same direction.
