Sha Burdsal
Sha Burdsal has spent the last twenty-one years in the field of education, eight of which have been in administration. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with emphasis in Special Education and a Master of Educational Administration from Texas Tech University.
Ms. Burdsal began her career in Lubbock-Cooper ISD as a special education teacher. She then moved to Ector County ISD in Odessa, Texas, where she spent the next fifteen years in various grade levels as well as administration. In 2007, she became the principal at Sam Houston Elementary with Midland ISD. Three years later she was asked to lead Travis Elementary, a third year Academically Unacceptable campus. This campus was also identified at Stage 1 with school improvement for not meeting AYP for two consecutive years. By the end of the first year at Travis, Ms. Burdsal and her team achieved the impossible: Academically Acceptable rating from TEA.
